Issues in the Integration of Europe

This course will examine the issues in the integration of Europe from historical, political, economic, and social viewpoints. It shows clear the significance of the EU in the world.
 

Science and Technology Policy for EU Integration and for the Dialog of Science and Society

The roles of scientists and international scientific collaboration in the process of EU integration since the "cold war" time is studied such as seen in CERN, ICTP Trieste and so on. Recent development of "Science and Society" policy in EU and in Japan is comparatively studied. Policy executives, journalists, scientific researchers and scientific attaches in embassies are invited as lecturers.
 

Special Topics on the EU

In this course, we examine and discuss about topics on the EU from the political, economic, social and cultural point of view.
 

Field Studies in British Culture

A nucleus of lectures and seminar provides historical, socio-political, religious, artistic and educational perspectives of the United Kingdom, uncovering the interaction of tradition and modernism. This is supplemented by optional visits to historical landmarks, museums, galleries, etc. Academic evaluation is based on written work. (Field work takes place in the U.K. during the summer break.) Students who wish to register should apply at the International Educational Exchange Group.
